Creation

First Posted on 28-July-2010

We are the creators of ourselves. Everything we do is created by us. The state of our mind at any given moment is of our own creation. Our perception of the physical manifestation that arises from our creation once again is our own. It all happens in the mind.

This creation is impermanent. It is an image in our mind, which lacks a tangible self. However the mind tricks us in to believing that it is permanent and tangible. It does so when it creates the concept that helps us perceive it and understand it. Having said thus, one must not confuse this to mean physical matter before us, which itself lacks permanence. One maybe of harder substances than the other but everything deteriorates. What we are considering now is the mind and not matter, matter is a creation of the mind in the mind.

The physical limitations imposed by our faculties make us conceptualize everything. We live in our world and see through it, just as much a worm under-ground has a whole world that lights up at a touch. The collective worlds of us all make up the whole world,

We give everything a "permanent" and "self" nature and view it 4 dimensionally, spatial dimension and time (Length x Width x Height / Time). So we always refer to everything with an "age". Not only do we give this "self" nature to every object but in doing so we attach our self to it. It is a "virtual reality".

Consciousness works on impulses and ends in an image, an image explained through science has to obey the laws of light and relativity in which there is no place for time. It is impermanent and has to be fueled to manifest. The fuel is the past manifestation. So here applies the laws of cause and effect. Through the notion of permanence of these images we create the concept of space or a body/form when it is really a collection of particles and the notion of "self" gives it the "time" factor. So we have the time/space continuum and distortion.

Some of the dictum usually used to explain the laws of cause and effect are:
"When this exists, that comes to be; with the arising of this, that arises" (imasmim sati idam hoti, imass' uppada idam uppajjati)
"No effect is the result of a single cause but the result of a collection of causes and effects"  (paccaya-samaggim paticca samam phalanam uppado),

"Effects becomes causes of new effects, and goes on so forth, a continuous process of conditioning",
"without the element of nutrition no effect can manifest" (just like the rainbow in the Eastern or Western sky which must have the correct ingredients and will only manifest to the viewer in the correct place).

This is the process of our consciousness. It is beginingless and endless and must be mastered.
