Synchronicity, Coincidence, Accidents, Chance

There are no coincidences, no accidents, nothing happens by chance.

If you believe in synchronicity – that is a significant occurrence or coincidence, then what you are doing is to make yourself consciously aware, or more appropriately said subconsciously aware, of it.

So for example, if you believe that the number 4 is
good for you, you will begin to notice more and more of it, both directly and inferentially. When you see 11:11am, you take it to mean something. Your sub-consciousness notices it and you are made aware of it whereas although you maybe seeing the time at other times it is not brought to you conscious awareness.

You can use this to your advantage, that is harness the power of your consciousness for your own good. So you can make things happen for you. When good things happen to us, usually, we have a flush of good times. And likewise bad things happen and, usually, all goes bad, whatever you touch. Some call it Murphy’s law, simply, bad happens at the worst time.

And the secret of opening this door to the subtle is to have an open mind, not pursue after anything, and not to have foreboding of impending doom but at the same time to cultivate your positive nature.

For example some people tell me that they are not able to do a good deed, as they cannot find anyone in need. Living in more or less the same environment some people seem to be doing several good deeds everyday. And they seem to see things that others do not see. It may even be a small thing such as a wheelchair-bound person who pauses for a minute that catches their eye that gives them the chance of helping to wheel them. Or someone trying to open one of those heavy glass doors but pauses for a split second when confronted by its weight, or a gust of wind that makes them notice an open umbrella that could well be shooed off by the wind. These are real life examples.

The wind is interesting because you can, with some certainty, see that it was the wind that manifested the presence of the open umbrella, not for which it may have gone unnoticed until the umbrella was in motion. And what is that ingredient that made it manifest? Think about it – it was your mind of openness, your considerate mind, and your love for all beings that made you feel the wind against the hairs of your skin. And so you see and perceive things others don’t. So how many things go unnoticed? A split second noticing of a car can avert an accident. Yes, it has happened many times. Think about it.

You have to be open to receive this information. You cannot be ruminating over problems at the office or your finances or your child’s condition, and so on. You have to be one with the whole, one with the universe. If you can synchronize yourself with the positive you can benefit positively, the greater the intensity the greater the chances of positive things happening to you. You have to be very mindful of this, of the now moments, of mindfulness so you do not get carried away by a single issue. Train yourself constantly to achieve this stream of thought, of your subconscious mind - your mind at rest.

This should not be misunderstood. It does not mean, that you cannot do anything or solve a problem or think about a solution or plan to go on a trip and book your flight, and so on, all of which happens with your functional mind. Random events and luck are likewise attributed to chance is never so. You just cannot trace its provenance.

Some people are said to be lucky and some are unlucky, some are born sufferers, we say. Is it because they are not mindful and open in this life, no! It is something that gestates over many, many lifetimes. This is karma - the ability of past actions to influences the psyche and its fruition today and tomorrow.

Can we stop it like flipping a switch, no! But we can start somewhere, that somewhere is today - to understand this process and recognize, as far as possible, what happens to us and to see how we can make things better for others and us.
